Buying an LCD TV

Okay so you have made up your mind to buy an LCD television. But you have not yet decided which one to get. Well before you head for the store pick up a CD or a DVD that has a movie with some dimly lit dark scenes in it. Once you get to the store check out the sets as the salesman gives you his sales pitch. Then pull out your CD or DVD and ask him to play it. Check the picture quality, see if the black shows as a true black or not.

Also check out the other colours. Like do the flash tones appear correct. Now check what all input sources the LVD television supports. Make sure the LCD television has multiple input sources. Doing this means you connect it to multiple input sources. Also check the picture quality from a satellite or cable source. Most LCD TVs will reproduce well from high quality pristine sources, like CD and HD but may not reproduce well from mediocre sources. Also make sure that there is a warranty on the back light. Or at least it can be easily replaced. Don’t go for a very large sized LCD television. It may look tempting in the store, but may be too big for your place. LCD televisions are getting very popular and quality is improving.
